چکیده

BACKGROUND
This hemolytic disease of fetus and newborn is a condition in which there immunologic hemolysis fetal / neonatal red blood cells.
 OBJECTIVE:
To compare the efficacy intravenous immunoglobulins reducing need for exchange transfusion Rh incompatible neonates.
MATERIALS AND METHOD: Randomized Controlled Trial was conducted from 1st September 2021 to 31st August 2022 at Department Pediatric Medicine, Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar. A total 92 neonates having bilirubin more than 8mg/dl were included study. Randomization performed through lottery method. All received conventional intensive phototherapy given by air shield Ohmeda lamps with white light an intensity 22 μW/cm/nm plus blue 32 μW/cm/nm. Extra fluids (10 mL per kg) administered during session. Subjects group IVIG single dose(1 gm/kg). In B saline instead IVIG. change 1mg considered effective after 4 hours starting treatment. Data recorded efficacy.
 RESULTS: Mean age Group 15.369± 4.98 days while 17.782± 3.31 B. gestational birth 37.608±1.58 weeks 38.173±1.71 parity 3.534±0.28 3.387±0.36 hospital stay 3.2±1.5days 5.7±1.2 A, seen 38 (82.6%) patients as 26 (56.5%) B, resulting significant reduction transfusions, duration session (P=0.006).
CONCLUSION: It concluded that administration hyperbilirubinemia caused requirement ,decreased time treatment thus safe

Immunosuppressive therapy in Rh-incompatible transfusion.

Postpartum injections of 250 ,tg of anti-D gammaglobulin prevent Rh-immunization of Rh-negative women, with an im-munosuppression success rate of approximately 95% (Eklund and Nevanlinna, 1971). The average fetomaternal transfusion, however, is less than 1-5 ml in 98% of cases (Clarke et al., 1966), and so far there are few observations on trying to suppress primary Rh-immunization due to massi...

Background: Previous studies have considered patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) a common finding in premature infants, leading to complications such as intracranial hemorrhage, necrotizing enterocolitis and pulmonary dysplasia. The aim of this study was to assess and compare the efficacy of oral ibuprofen and intravenous acetaminophen in the closure of arterial duct in premature newborns. We also e...

Intravenous Immunoglobulins in the Therapy Of

Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) is used for the treatment of numerous immunodeficiency, immune-mediated, and inflammatory disorders in humans. More recently, it has been described for the therapy of immune-mediated hematologic disease in dogs. While the potential benefits of IVIG are tantalizing, and initial reports in dogs are encouraging, there is a marked paucity of controlled studies in t...
